How to get a PPP loan

To get a PPP loan, you first need to make an application. You can apply for any SBA-approved donor, including partner commercial banks and credit unions.

The program also provides a waiver that is typically applied for SBA loans. This includes charges for borrowers and donors as well as prepayment fees. For this, you will not need to provide any protection or personal guarantee.

You must apply to a participating donor, who subsequently sends them to SBA for approval. The SBA evaluates them as soon as they receive it. You can get a sample application on the SBA website. Look here to know how to apply for a PPP loan online.

Do you want to get a loan from PPP? Follow the steps below to know how to apply for a PPP loan online.

Step 1: Access your PPP application

When submitting a PPP loan application to SBA, you will first need to be redirected to your PPP application with a lender partner. After that, you have to complete your application with the partner. Once all the necessary information and documentation are done, it will be finalized. Then, their partners will submit the approved PPP to the lender’s market.

If you have already left the application portal, you will be able to return to your application. Your lender will send you an email that you can access on the application portal. You will need to reset your password to log in. Your login information and your lender portal information will remain the same. Log in to the application portal to review your existing information and select ‘Edit Application’ to fill in any required information. Some more steps will be needed to finalize your application.

Step 2: Add your business information

You need to fill in all the information about your business information correctly. If there is incorrect information or any information left, your chances of getting access will be reduced. Here a few sections are given below:

Business Address: Verify that your business address is correct with a 5-digit zip code. This zip code plays an important role when applying.

Type of business: You must choose the right type of business to take out a loan. Make sure the type of business you select is correct. This is, of course, one of the most required documents to provide.

Business Tax ID: Tax ID plays an important role in taking PPP loans. Provide a 9-digit tax ID and check that the ID number is a valid 9-digit number.

Loan amount: The average loan amount should be 2.5 times your average monthly salary expenditure. It should not be 0 or more. You can try using a PPP loan calculator.

Employee Count: The number of verified employees must be between 1 and 500.

Step 3: Add new requirements

Business start date: This date should be the same date of filing with your Secretary of State.

Industry: You need to add your industry to get applications approved. Type your art and select it from the displayed menu. If you do not find the right industry, select a similar option.

Driver’s License: You will need a valid driver’s license to get a PPP loan. You must provide a color copy of the front and back of your driver’s license.

Step 4: Enter the owner information

To confirm the owner’s percentage, first, enter the “Owner Information” page. The percentage of your ownership must be greater than 0, and for any individual, you must pay at least 20% of the shares.

Step 5: Upload necessary documents

You must upload all the necessary documents on the “Upload your documents” page. Everything must be uploaded correctly here, and any missing documents must be added.

You need to upload the following attachments to your application to confirm the PPP application.

Acceptable Salary Documents:

For businesses applying for PPP loans:

  • Quarterly tax filing
  • Annual tax filing
  • Register parole for the previous 12 months
  • 12 months latest bank statement

For individual contractors or self-employed persons:

Step 7: Check your email for the next instructions

Once your application is certified and finalized with your lender, it will place them in their paying marketplace where the PPP lender can accept your application and provide you with a PPP loan. Your lender will send you an email if your application is accepted. Follow all the instructions in the email to make sure you can get a loan.

You need a copy of an extended check to tell your lender where the funds should go once you are approved. Your lender will send you an email to assign a PLP number, and you will also be a member of the US Small Business Administration’s loan system.

Who is eligible for PPP?

Generally, PPP loans can be taken by small businesses, S Corporation, C Corporation, LLC, private non-profit, trust-based company. Any small business with 500 or more employees can take this loan. They can also file IRS Schedule C with their Form 1040 as an independent contractor and sole proprietor.
